NFL Power Rankings: Cowboys, Iggles climb; Jints, Jets fall
Tue 03 Nov 2009
1. Saints (7-0) (1): Saints take care of division rival Atlanta in a huge home win last night. A few hiccups here and there, but 35-27 is plenty good enough. One more return TD on defense. That’s six – SIX! – for the season.
2. Colts (7-0) (2): A rarity: Colts win without a Peyton Manning TD pass. Instead, it’s a halfback option from Joseph Addai to Reggie Wayne that seals the deal against the pesky 49ers in the fourth quarter.
3. Vikings (7-1) (4): Couldn’t have gone any better for Brett Favre, who trotted out onto Lambeau Field to a torrent of boos and answered back with four TD passes against his old team. Take that!
4. Patriots (5-2) (5): Tanned, rested and ready – well, rested and ready, anyway – off a bye week, the Pats get ready to host Miami in a huge AFC East game. Pats can take two-game lead over Jets with a win.
5. Broncos (6-1) (3): After losing for the first time this season, it doesn’t get any easier for the Broncos. Following a blowout loss in Bal’more, the Broncos host a Steelers team coming off a bye.
6. Cowboys (5-2) (8): Hottest team in the league? Pretty close. After an uneven first month of the season, the Cowboys have won three straight and are looking terrific, particularly on offense.
